People tend to relax around Alex pretty quickly. He listens well. He notices things. Most assume that comes from experience on stage or years working on creative projects. It does. But it started way earlier, in a childhood that required awareness before it ever allowed comfort. His dad left when he was three. His mom worked constantly and was rarely home. He grew up with a stepdad who was mentally and verbally abusive, in a house where laughter didn’t exist and safety wasn’t guaranteed, something no kid deserves. You grow up pretty fast in an environment like that. You learn how to read energy, track moods, and sense what’s coming before it arrives.
That instinct carried Alex into adulthood and straight into Hollywood, where opportunity and excess tend to arrive hand in hand. Working alongside some of the biggest names in the film and music industry brought money, access, and a lifestyle built around staying numb. From the outside, it looked like success. From the inside, it was survival.
The partying and drinking weren’t about celebration, but about drowning the pain of never feeling loved or good enough as a kid. One failed relationship after another followed, because he never quite believed it would last once it showed up.
Eventually, the life he was using to outrun his past demanded a reckoning. A moment that forced Alex to slow down, face consequences, and sit with years of guilt, shame, and responsibility he could no longer escape.
From there, Alex didn’t rebuild his career first, he rebuilt his life. He got honest about how broken and lost he was, turned back to God, and started doing the unglamorous work of changing his patterns, his environment, and the people he kept close. The comeback wasn’t flashy. It was humbling.
Nothing about the turnaround was impressive from the outside. It was quieter than that. Faith gave Alex a way to stop spiraling, and work gave him something to commit to. He learned design, marketing, and live event production without shortcuts, by being present and accountable. Slowly, people trusted him with more. Bigger projects. More pressure. Real stakes. Not because he figured life out, but because he stopped pretending he had.
